In accordance with the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Haidian District, in the period of 2006-2010, the district will strive to remain at the forefront of China’s economic development. With knowledge as the main driving force, it will make vigous efforts to build a new type of economic system that can facilitate the coordinated development of a knowledge-based economy, a cluster economy, a headquarters economy, an Olympic economy and a tourism economy by bringing all advantages of the district into full play.

The district will focus on the development of high-tech and modern service industries, accelerate the development of new economic growth points, optimize industrial layout, improve support platforms, and strike a sound balance among the growth rate, structure, quality and efficiency in economic development.
